Ms. Dhalla served as the Member of Parliament for Brampton—Springdale in the House of Commons of Canada from 2004 to 2011 as a member of the Liberal Party said Mayor Brown is a champion of the voiceless, minorities, women, diversity and young people.

Despite facing challenges and struggles, Mayor Brown has been driven by his passion, not for politics, but public service. Having a young family and being a young father, Mayor Brown dedicates his time and energy to the community and attends more than 18 events daily, which speaks volumes, says Ms. Dhalla. About her personal experience with Mr. Brown, Ms. Dhalla noted that when her brother, Neil Dhalla, passed away, Patrick was one of the first to call and check on her family despite having a busy schedule.

Patrick is a champion for public safety in Brampton, when Bramptonions ought to have a university so that young people can prosper, and when every senior and family in Brampton have access to the health care they deserve.

"I don't bring any notes when I come to talk to you because I know the city upside down," said Brampton Mayor Patrick Brown with sheer confidence.
