TTC Employees Assaulted By a Group of 10-15 Youth at Kennedy Road & Merrian Road

Police reported an ASSAULT at Kennedy Road and Merrian Road in Scarborough at 3:35 p.m.



As per the report, a group of 10-15 youths attacked three uniformed TTC (Toronto Transit Commission) employees on a bus.


The youths fled the area.


Police went to the scene for further investigation.


The police attended along with TTC Special Constables and were updated two TTC employees were assaulted.


Their injuries are non-life-threatening.


“We will, as always, give police our full cooperation and any video we have,” the TTC said.


In a statement Monday evening, Toronto Mayor John Tory urged anyone with information to “help police find those responsible for this attack so they can face consequence

es for their behavior.”


“We have to put an end to these acts of violence and disrespect against transit workers,” he said.


Tory said he is also “very concerned” about the increasing number of criminal acts by youth.


“I strongly believe this is something all governments have to work together to urgently address with social and mental health experts,” Tory continued.
