TORONTO: Following a stabbing at Sherbourne St and Dundas St E, a man died of his injuries

A man was pronounced dead on the scene after succumbing to injuries following the stabbing at Sherbourne St & Dundas St E in Toronto.



A stabbing occurred inside 251 Sherbourne St., according to duty inspector Husain.


“At this point, the homicide unit has taken control of this investigation,” added Inspector Husain.


“We have members of 51 Division on scene as well as their investigative bureau. At this point, we're looking for any witnesses that may have been around 251 Sherbourne at about 3:40 in the afternoon.”


Currently, police do not have any other suspects and there is no ongoing threat to public safety, Husain said.


Police have taken one person into custody during their investigation.


When the incident was first reported, police tweeted that a man had been stabbed. An officer responded to the scene and found a man with multiple stab wounds. The patient was treated on the scene by Toronto Medics. It appeared that life-threatening injuries had been sustained.


Following another update from the Police, it was announced that the man had died of his injuries.
