NEW YORK — A red carpet ceremony for the Met Gala in New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art has come to an end with the official closing of the red carpet that happened on May 1st 2023.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas with husband Nick Jonas honored late designer Karl Lagerfeld at the Met Gala 2023 in a black and white theme. The Citadel series star along with husband Nick Jonas wore a black and white color ensemble designed by Valentino.
As for her classy avatar, Priyanka wore a thigh slit and off-the-shoulder dress and paired it with white arm length gloves. Jewellery was kept classic, a silverish diamond necklace and matching earrings. A beautiful bun hairstyle and black pumps completed the look.
A light brown lip color, natural blush, and eyeliner enhanced the beauty of her eyes and lips.
Nick Jonas wore a leather coat style jacket with a black tie and a diamond brooch on it. A pair of shiny black shoes screamed Lagerfeld's signature style. Both of them looked stunning and complimented one another well.
Regardless of the extent to which the event honors Karl Lagerfeld's legacy, the evening was really about raising money for The Met's Costume Institute in order to support the exhibition, titled "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty." The event celebrated Lagerfeld's eponymous line, whose designs were worn by Chanel, Fendi, and the late designer himself.
The red carpet spectacle that was held as guests walked up the famous Met steps was as important as the exhibition itself, of course, as it revealed a star-studded array of guests. Despite the fact that the Met Gala has often been dubbed the "Super Bowl of fashion," the event has contributed quite a few memorable (and even viral) celebrity red carpet ensembles over these last few decades.
In honor of Lagerfeld, this year's A-list guests were asked to dress "in honor of Karl" and we saw the most amazing outfits that were inspired by the designer's signature design characteristics. Some of these outfits featured Chanel tweeds and his own black-and-white uniforms.

Penélope Cruz, Michaela Coel, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa and Vogue's Anna Wintour were all present at this year's Met Gala as co-hosts, as were Vogue's Anna Wintour and Penélope Cruz's co-host, Michaela Coel. There was also a host of celebrities on the guest list including actors, singers, athletes, models, and artists who showed up in style at the event.
