Region of Peel - Investigators from the 12 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have charged a 24-year-old Mississauga man with firearm-related offences.
On Monday, May 8th, 2023, at approximately 10:10 p.m.., patrol officers from 12 Division investigated a vehicle in the area of North Service Road, in Mississauga for Highway Traffic Act and Canabis Act related offences.
As a result of the investigation, officers located a loaded 9mm handgun with a 27-round extended magazine and a quantity of drugs.
Tyler Nguyen, a 24-year-old man from Mississauga was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited or Restricted
Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
Careless Storage of a Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited Device or Ammunition
Possession of a Prohibited Device or Ammunition Knowing its Possession is Unauthorized X 2
Trafficking in a Controlled Substance X 2
Possession of Cannabis for the Purpose Selling
He was held for a bail hearing and appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
