Ontario Government reaches tentative deal with CUPE education workers. Schools will be open tomorrow

The Ontario Government has reached a tentative deal with CUPE (Canadian Union of Public Employees) education workers. Schools will be open tomorrow.

The province did not provide any support for the new services. Workers will continue to use their voices to fight, apply pressure, and push the government for new services, said Laura Walton (CUPE's Ontario School Board Council of Union).

There are no new services for new jobs, and no money has been allocated for new services.

“There will be no job action tomorrow,” the update said. “Our members will be reporting to schools to continue supporting the students that we are proud to work with.”
