No more fireworks: Brampton issues 'immediate' ban on personal fireworks.

The city of Brampton has banned the home use and sale of fireworks after a flood of complaints. Brampton Alderman Keenan submitted a motion to ban fireworks in Brampton, which passed unanimously.

Brampton residents have spoken out as he received 1,500 complaints this year, with a petition signed by some 10,000 people asking the city council to ban the private use of fireworks.

As a result, it is now regulated and illegal to use fireworks on private property. Events such as Diwali, Victoria Day, Canada Day and New Year's Eve were exceptions.

Failure to follow the bylaws can result in hefty fines ($350-$1,000).

People are happy and relieved to know this, as many fireworks pose a danger to pets, safety, and community members.
