Mississauga follows in Brampton's footsteps, planning to ban fireworks

Last year in November, Brampton banned the home use and sale of fireworks after a flood of complaints. Brampton councillor submitted a motion to ban fireworks in Brampton, which passed unanimously.

As a result, it is now regulated and illegal to use fireworks on private property.

Failure to follow the bylaws can result in hefty fines ($350-$1,000) in Brampton.

Brampton residents are happy and relieved to know this, as many fireworks pose a danger to pets, safety, and community members.

Mississauga is now next to ban the fireworks, and paperwork is under at the city hall to outline this new rule.
