Hazel McCallion, a former mayor of Mississauga died at the age of 101 today. Mississauga's 36-year mayor, Hazel McCallion, transformed the city from a rural to a thriving city.

McCallion's accomplishments were remembered by Mayor Brown who said, "she built modern Mississauga and Mississauga is doing very well because of her relentless determination."
