Injuries caused by violent carjacking claim the life of a 24-year-old food delivery driver

Region of Peel – Investigators from the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau are asking for the public’s assistance after a carjacking victim succumbed to his injuries sustained during incident.

This incident occurred on July 9, 2023 in the area of Britannia Road and Creditview, in the City of Mississauga.

The victim, Gurvinder NATH, a 24 year-old man from Brampton was working as a food delivery driver, when a call was placed for a food order. Upon arrival, NATH was violently assaulted and robbed of his vehicle. On July 14, 2023, NATH succumbed to his injuries after being taken to a trauma centre.

Investigators have reason to believe there are multiple suspects involved and that the food order was placed as a means of luring the driver to the area. It is believed that NATH was an innocent victim although every potential motive is being explored.

Investigators have identified a suspect vehicle; it is described as a 2012 to 2017 Hyundai Accent sedan, white in colour. It has a distinctive flashing blue light at the top of the windshield.

A male is seen exiting the vehicle. He is described as wearing dark clothing.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area and witnessed the incident or has dashcam footage to contact Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau at 905-453-3311, extension 3205. Information may also be left anonymously by calling Peel Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or visiting peelcrimestoppers.ca.
