A COLLISION occurred at Danforth Ave and Woodbine Ave at 3:58 a.m., according to Toronto police.

A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
Speaking with reporters at the scene, Duty Insp. Ryan Forde said the victim was standing near the sidewalk when they were hit.
The driver fled the area.
A man was transported to the St. Michael’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
As a result of his injuries, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
There are road closures in the area. Danforth Avenue is currently closed from Woodbine Avenue to Patricia Drive as police investigate. Transit users should also expect days and detours.

Traffic Services is investigating.
Toronto police are appealing to witnesses or anyone with video of the incident or area to come forward.
