The former talk show host and her wife, Portia de Rossi, just purchased a $70 million estate in the Santa Barbara County coastal town of Carpinteria.
Ellen and Portia broke the record for the most expensive home sale in Santa Barbara. The previous record was set two years ago when billionaire Riley Bechtel bought a $63 million property, Dirt.com reported.
Allen's new property actually consists of two lots. There is a 3.6-acre lot that includes a 9,066-square-foot mansion purchased for $41.7 million and a mostly vacant 6.6-acre lot purchased for $28.2 million. The two properties are next to each other and occupy 10 hectares of land.
The house has five bedrooms and eight bathrooms across three levels of living space. There’s also a three-car garage attached to the house, plus a one-bedroom, one-bath guesthouse.
