The Toronto Police Department's Project Cerro seized drugs, weapons, and cash; seven people were arrested.
A major drug investigation by the Toronto Police Service Drug Squad was updated today by Superintendent Steven Watts and Deputy Police Chief, Pauline Gray.
The Toronto Police Department seized massive quantities of drugs, cash, and weapons as part of Project Cerro, the largest seizure in a single day.
The police seized at least 388 kilograms of illegal drugs (cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, all worth $32 million on the street), four firearms, fully loaded Glocks, and seven vehicles.
There are now several people facing charges in connection with this police investigation. Various crimes under this investigation have resulted in the arrests and charges of four people.
In his speech, Watts thanked the Ontario Government for its funding and support. Using the southern border of the U.S., the drugs travel from Mexico to Toronto, Canada for distribution.
This seizure is intended to prevent violence and keep dangerous drugs off the streets. The stash houses for these drugs are located in seven apartments in Toronto, added Watts.
