The chemical fire at New Toronto & Eighth St. resulted in a Level 3 hazmat incident

Police reported a chemical FIRE at New Toronto St & Eighth St.

It has been reported that there is a chemical fire in a commercial building at 199 New Toronto Street.

Police are investigating the incident.

Firefighters from the Toronto Fire Department were also on site and have been advised this is a level 3 hazmat incident. According to officials, the chemicals could be both toxic and explosive.

No injuries were reported.

The immediate area has been closed to traffic.

There may be delays.
