Region of Peel – Detectives from the Peel Regional Police 22 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau have arrested and charged a Brampton resident following a road rage incident in which a firearm was brandished.
On Friday, March 17, 2023, Patrol officers responded to the area of Williams Parkway, and Fletchers Creek Boulevard in Brampton for a weapons call. A motorist advised that they were involved in a brief altercation with another driver who then produced a gun, pointed it at them and threatened to kill them before fleeing the area. Fortunately, no shots were fired, and no one sustained any physical injuries.
Detectives quickly identified the vehicle and began seeking judicial authority for search warrants. On the morning of March 17, 2023, officers executed a search warrant at a residence in Brampton, where they located 33-year-old Anthony Daley.
A subsequent search of Daley’s vehicle revealed an illegal loaded handgun, body armour and a number of illicit drugs.
Anthony Daley was held in custody for a bail hearing, and has been charged with the following ten Criminal Code Offences:
Point Firearm
Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
Careless Storage of a Firearm
Occupant of a Motor Vehicle Knowing There was a Firearm
Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
Tampering with Serial Number
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (X3)
Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
