And my pitch to you today is hopefully you build a successful company here in Karachi, but know that you've got a platform to expand that success in Canada."

In 2022, Mayor Brown was re-elected as mayor of Brampton. According to him, "Brampton is Canada's fastest growing big city where the youngest big city in Canada." "We're also the most diverse big city in Canada and we are in the center of Canada's innovation corridor," he added.

"One of my favorite aspects of our reinvigorated economy is BHive."

Mayor Brown informed the audience that this year's BHive is "all about startup visas."

"It's all about giving a startup from anywhere in the world the opportunity to succeed in Canada. Right now, from that entry point in Brampton, you can pitch your startup to North America. We have preferential trade agreements, which means if you get into Brampton, you have access to Canada, the US and Mexico. You've got a giant population and we have a history of where startups."

Later in the day, Mayor Brown met with cricket star Shahid Afridi to discuss his legacy and popularity in Brampton.

In regard to Shahid Afridi, Mayor Brown mentioned, "he spent a few weeks a few years ago in Brampton for a tournament we host called the GT20 and I asked him how he enjoyed spending time in Brampton, in Canada and he said it felt like he was at home. I thought how beautiful that is."

The mayor concluded his presentation by saying, "That's Canada, you know we are this mosaic and in some countries they say forget where you come from. The beauty of Canada, we say."

"There's no contradiction in being proud of your ancestry, your heritage and being fiercely proud to be Canadian and Brampton is that times 10," added Mayor Brown.
