According to AP news, injuries and lack of movement run through the US squad ahead of Monday's game against Wales.

Weston McKennie, Sergiño Dest and Luca de la Torre missed game time, while Christian Pulisic and Matt Turner were also fighting for game time for their clubs. Defensemen Walker Zimmerman and Aaron Lang entered the Americans' first World Cup game in eight years after missing more than a month at the end of their MLS season. There is a friendly against Al-Gharafa on Thursday, with the Qatari club hosting the American training base at the Thani bin Jassim Stadium. Still, the intensity could be multiplied against Wales.

“This is going to be a dogfight,” McKennie said Saturday. “When everyone’s on all cylinders and fighting for each other and you see little fights on the field and everybody’s just fired up and ready to go, those are the times that I think we’ve played at our best.”
