VAUGHAN — Several roads in the Pine Valley and Teston areas have been closed as the fire is being battled by emergency crews.
Vaughan's Woodbridge neighborhood is under fire this afternoon due to a massive fire in a residential subdivision being built.
At 1:50 p.m. on April 12, York Regional Police reported a fire near Pine Valley Drive and Teston Road.
Many of the roads in the area are closed, including Pine Valley, Ballantyne Boulevard, and portions of Teston.
Firefighters from Vaughan Fire and Rescue Service are responding to "multiple fires." They are asking that people stay away from the area while crews respond to the fires.
At this time, no injuries have been reported.
The sky over Vaughan and adjacent highways is filled with huge plumes of black smoke.
Flames and smoke can be seen coming from houses in the area in a video shared on Twitter. A nearby forested area is also on fire, according to the person who posted. The homes are new builds.
