A 35-year-old Mississauga man is in custody after a series of break-ins

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 11 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau have arrested and charged a 35-year-old man from Mississauga following a series of break-and-enters in Mississauga.



In the morning of Monday, June 5, 2023, in the area of Credit Woodlands in Mississauga, two incidents occurred while the homeowners slept during the early morning hours. The third, the homeowner, was assaulted and sustained minor injuries. In all incidents, property and money were stolen.

On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Matthew Ward was arrested and charged with the following offences:

  • Attempt to Commit an Indictable Offence

  • Assault (X2)

  • Break and Enter and Commit an Indictable Offence (X2)

  • Sexual Assault

  • Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

  • Assault with a Weapon

Investigators believe there may be more victims and are urging anyone with any information to contact them.
